New Zealand Chinese Language Teachers' Association (NZCLTA)

Considering that the learning of Chinese is increasing in New Zealand, it is important to count on an association that represents Chinese Language Teachers, similarly to other language teacher associations, which play critical roles in professional network and supporting each other, sharing resources, as well as professional development for teachers. The Association is a non-profit organisation.

The aim of this organization is to provide professional network opportunities and professional development opportunities for teachers of Chinese at primary and secondary level, in order to promote effective Chinese learning and teaching in schools.

Membership: teachers of Chinese in secondary and primary level should be the main body. However, the Association is also open to any persons who subscribe to and share the same aims of the NZCLTA, including tertiary teachers and community members.

新西兰中文教师协会成立于2014年，是一个新西兰注册的非盈利组织，致力于支持新西兰的中小学中文教师和中文教学，以及联络新西兰教育部，新西兰NCEA考试机构以及其他支持新西兰中文教学和中新文化交流的机构和组织。协会也为在新西兰教授中文的教师们提供一个合作与交流的平台，旨在促进中文教学质量的提升，提升中文作为全球语言在新西兰的地位，促进中华文化在新西兰的传播，以及中新文化的互动和交流。

新西兰中文教师协会委员会成员包括一名会长，一名副会长和新西兰各个城市和地区的六名地区会长，一名秘书和一名出纳，协会会员遍布新西兰全国各个地方。

目标群体

新西兰中文教师协会的成员包括在新西兰中小学学校教授中文的教师，包括部分社区中文学校的中文教师，以及其他从事中文教育研究和推广的人员。协会欢迎任何对中文教育和中新文化交流感兴趣的个人或者组织加入，共同推动新西兰中文教育事业的发展。

主要目标
1. 支持中文教育：推广中文在新西兰中小学的教育发展。
2. 教师专业发展：通过工作坊、研讨会等活动，帮助中文教师提高教学能力，了解最新教学方法和资源。
3. 资源共享与交流：提供中文教学资源，鼓励教师之间的经验分享与合作。
4. 文化推广： 增强学生对中华文化兴趣和了解。
5. 政策倡导：与新西兰教育部、NZQA，新西兰全国外语教师协会等保持联系和交流，推动对中文教育的支持。
主要活动
• 举办两年一届的“新西兰大洋洲中文教师大会”，以及其他不定期的交流和研讨活动。
• 提供中文教学资源分享和支持。
• 组织鼓励中文学生参与中文比赛和文化活动。
• 维护教师间的联络，促进同行间的经验交流。
• 建立和维护协会资源分享网站，Kiwihanyu website.
